I've done very little knitting in the last while. I've hit a wall with the Ethereal top, and I've got Knitters block. No matter what I try, it doesn't look right. I ended up knitting nothing for about 5 days, then I remembered.
It's Dad's birthday tomorrow! Crappers!
He'll be 88 years young. I think that deserves a nice present, don't you?
I've knit like the wind, but sadly I've failed:
I'm about to start the toe decreases on the first sock. Boo. I'm going to get it finished tonight, and do an I.O.U. for the other one. Hopefully he'll understand.
Alice made him a card too:
Very appropriate for an organist, no?
Good knitting!

I have... 3 late february birthday presents & a couple of March ones to do too, so you're not doing too badly! Alice's card is brilliant! too cute!
Oh dear. At least he'll get one for his birthday and know another present is coming. Like the yarn colour and how it's striping into the sock.
Wow I think you did very well to knit one sock in such a short time. I'm sure he will love them
Oh it's okay if you don't complete the other sock. This happens to me all of the time. The birthday card is very cute !
I'm sure your dad will love the sock he gets with an IOU...you knit fast so it won't be too long 'til he gets the second!
Happy Birthday! I'm sure he will be thrilled with the sock! It's handmade after all and the second one is coming! I know I would be super happy to get handknitted socks for my birthday!
What were you thinking, trying to knit a pair of socks in a DAY? :) Happy Birthday to your dad!
