OK, lame title, I know, but I'm all out of inspiration for this one. Magic was never my forte.
So, here's my progress on the Hello Killy Illusion Scarf for Alice:
Now you see it:
Now you don't:
Sort of. I'm not wild about it, I think poor kitty looks a bit stretched, but it's ok. I know she'll love it IF I get it finished for tomorrow. Hmm. It's getting tight now. I've two kitties and one flower done, two kitties to go.
I must say, illusion knitting is much easier than it looks, I'd certainly be tempted to give it another go some other time perhaps with better charts. But this was a great introduction to it.
In other news, poor Alice has had a bad birthday so far. She decided to have her birthday yesterday instead of Monday as she's in school and couldn't stay up late etc. So, we did presents yesterday afternoon & went to the local Indian for dinner last night.
While there, in the middle of the starter she went to the bathroom complaining that her wobby tooth was hurting her. I don't know what made me leave my food and follow her in, call it Mammys instinct I guess, but the poor mite was crying as it was bleeding & sore. In fact it was hanging off. I had a tissue and was having a look at it when it came out in my hand, and she fainted dead away in the bathroom stall. Just dropped like a sack of potatoes. I got an awful fright, she's never fainted before, nor is she afraid of the sight of blood.
I don't know how I did it but I managed to catch her. She took a good few minutes to come to and was absolutely white. Her lips were almost see through.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the restaurant was abandoned. I had to carry her to the car. I'd say it was a good hour before she was back to herself, and even at that she was just cuddled into me.
So, not much of a birthday dinner! I'll have to make it up to her tomorrow. Hopefully if I get the scarf finished that will cheer her up. I've also got a lovely dinner planned. Poor Alice.
Anyway, I'd better get back to the knitting if I'm to get it finished!
Good knitting!

Yikes! Glad she came around again... would have given me a hell of a fright, too.
Oh dear! Poor Alice. And poor you too. A bit freaky of a thing to have to deal with but glad it all worked out ok and she's feeling better. The scarf is interesting. I thought it was two sides but it just depends on the angle you view it does it? Hope you get it done in time to make Alice's real birthday a cheerful one.
Oh, poor Alice!!! FAINTING after losing a tooth! Jeez, I used to LOVE pulling them out, heh. Great job on the shadow knitting, though!
Only getting to read this now - way behind in reading my blogs!
What an awful fright for you and Alice. Glad she rallied round later.
